Railway collects ₹3.16 Crore penalty from ticketless travellers in November
Ferozepur, December 2, 2025: The Ferozepur Rail Division’s ticket-checking teams continued intensive inspections in trains to curb unauthorised travel. During November 2025, a total of 44,715 passengers were found travelling without tickets or with irregular tickets, resulting in the recovery of approximately ₹3.16 crore in penalties. This marks a 10% increase compared to the same period last year and 24% above the target set by the Railway Headquarters, New Delhi.
To maintain cleanliness at stations and discourage littering, regular checks were conducted across major stations. As a result, over ₹64,000 was collected in fines from 380 passengers for violating the Anti-Littering Act.
Divisional Railway Manager Sanjeev Kumar said the ticket-checking drives will continue to ensure improved ticket sales and reduce unauthorised travel. Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Parmdeep Singh Saini added that the achievement reflects the dedication and vigilance of the ticket-checking staff, alongside awareness campaigns encouraging passengers to follow rules.
