Mayank Foundation highlights grassroots road safety reforms at 2nd SAFAR Summit
Ferozepur, February 18, 2026: At the 2nd Summit on Automotive Future Advancement in Road Safety (SAFAR), Deepak Sharma, Founder of Mayank Foundation, participated as a distinguished panellist, reinforcing the Foundation's commitment to road safety and community-driven initiatives. The summit was hosted by the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) under the theme “Drive to Zero: Strengthening Policies, Preparedness, and Partnerships.”
The prestigious summit, part of SIAM Sustainable Mobility Week 2026, brought together policymakers, industry leaders, emergency response experts, OEMs, NGOs, and civil society representatives to deliberate on critical aspects of road safety, post-crash care, and sustainable mobility.
During the final panel discussion moderated by Sumit Chaturvedi, Founder & Editor-in-Chief, VoiWorld.com, Deepak Sharma strongly emphasized the urgent need for ecosystem-level reforms and grassroots integration in India’s road safety framework.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Sharma stated, “Many underserved regions in India still lack basic road infrastructure, effective enforcement, and adequate healthcare facilities to respond to road accidents. What is needed is a holistic shift—ecosystem-level reforms and stronger grassroots integration to ensure prevention, response, and recovery systems work seamlessly together.”
Highlighting the on-ground experience of Mayank Foundation, Sharma shared insights from years of dedicated road safety awareness campaigns, post-crash response advocacy, community engagement programs, and collaborative initiatives with law enforcement agencies and educational institutions.
He stressed that while policies and vehicle technologies are evolving rapidly, the real impact lies in strengthening the last-mile connectivity between communities, emergency responders, hospitals, and enforcement agencies—especially in semi-urban and rural regions.
Participation at SAFAR marks another milestone for Mayank Foundation’s sustained efforts to create safer roads through awareness, education, partnerships, and structured interventions. The Foundation continues to work closely with authorities and stakeholders to reduce preventable fatalities and promote responsible road behavior.
Mayank Foundation remains committed to transforming road safety from a campaign into a culture—ensuring that every life on the road is valued, protected, and saved.
