Jalandhar, February 18: In a proactive step to address public concerns and ensure safety, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Himanshu Aggarwal has constituted a dedicated committee to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the design and construction of the Ladhewali flyover in Jalandhar. This decision follows reports of inconvenience and challenges faced by commuters due to structural and design shortcomings in the flyover.
The Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of public safety and stated that the committee will carry out an impartial and technical investigation to ascertain the facts surrounding the issue. The committee will be chaired by the Chief Minister's Regional Officer, Jalandhar, and will include members such as the Superintending Engineer (SE) of the Municipal Corporation, Jalandhar, and the Additional SE of Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL), Jalandhar Cantt. This multidisciplinary team will ensure a thorough examination of all technical aspects related to the flyover's construction and design.
Dr. Aggarwal has directed the committee to conduct a detailed on-site inspection to assess both technical and administrative aspects of the flyover. He has instructed that any negligence or violations of established construction standards be identified and addressed. The committee has been given a strict timeline of 15 days to submit a comprehensive report, including clear recommendations for corrective actions if necessary.
"The district administration is fully committed to ensuring the safety and convenience of the public. Any negligence in this matter will not be tolerated," stated Dr. Aggarwal. He further assured that appropriate measures will be taken based on the findings of the investigation to resolve the issues and prevent similar occurrences in the future.
