Platform ticket sale suspended at Ludhiana, Dhandari Kalan stations ahead of Holi
Ferozepur, February 23, 2026: In view of the expected surge in passenger movement during the Holi festival, the Firozpur Division, Northern Railway has decided to temporarily suspend the sale of platform tickets at Ludhiana and Dhandari Kalan railway stations from February 27 to March 3, 2026.
The decision has been taken to control extra crowding at railway stations and to ensure smooth and convenient movement of passengers during the festive rush. The Firozpur Division has appealed to rail passengers to cooperate with the railway administration for a safe and hassle-free journey.
Passengers have been advised to travel only with essential luggage and to avoid unnecessary items. Those accompanying friends or relatives travelling by train have been requested to see them off only up to the station entrance and not enter the platforms, so as to prevent avoidable congestion within the station premises.
Emphasising passenger safety as the top priority, the railway administration has urged travellers to strictly follow railway rules during their journey. Passengers have also been cautioned not to carry firecrackers or any inflammable items while travelling by train, as such materials pose serious safety risks.
The appeal was issued by Parmdeep Singh Saini, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Northern Railway, Firozpur. He reiterated that cooperation from the public is essential to maintain order and ensure a pleasant travel experience for all during the festive period.
