Sukhbir Badal promises Special Industrial Package, Kandi Development Ministry if SAD comes to power in 2027

Chabbewal (Punjab), April 3, 2026: Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) president Sukhbir Singh Badal today announced that the next SAD government would implement a special industrial package for the Kandi region and establish a dedicated Kandi Area Development ministry after forming the government in 2027.
Addressing a massive rally in Chabbewal, Badal outlined plans including power and tax subsidies, twin highways from Pathankot to Chandigarh and Amritsar to Anandpur Sahib, government tubewells, drip irrigation, and underground pipe facilities for farmers.
Criticizing the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), Badal alleged that law and order had reached a nadir, with ministers colluding with gangsters to intimidate and extort citizens. He claimed Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann avoided visiting his own village without imposing lockdowns and confiscating weapons, accusing the government of prioritizing Delhi’s agenda over Punjab.
Badal also accused the AAP government of rampant corruption, alleging extravagant spending on party rallies and fraudulent investment claims. He demanded clarity on Rs 1.5 lakh crore investment claims, citing RTI data showing only Rs 2,600 crore invested.
Outlining SAD’s vision for 2027, Badal announced:
- Establishment of a World Skill University skilling 1 lakh youth annually
- Medical and veterinary colleges in every district
- Rs 10 lakh interest-free loans for youth
- Expansion of the Aata Dal scheme
- Pension and Shagun allowance hikes
- Jobs exclusively for Punjabis and 75% subsidy for dairy and livestock ventures
Senior leaders including Harjinder Singh Dhami, Dr Daljit Singh Cheema, Hira Singh Gabria, and others attended the rally, highlighting SAD’s roadmap for Punjab’s development and governance.
