Putin offers to mediate Middle East peace in call with Iran’s President Pezeshkian

Moscow (Russia), April 12, 2026: Russian President Vladimir Putin on Sunday conveyed to his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian that Russia is willing to play a mediating role in efforts to bring stability and peace to the Middle East.
According to a statement issued by the Kremlin, Putin highlighted Moscow’s readiness to support diplomatic initiatives aimed at resolving ongoing conflicts in the region.
The statement noted that the Russian leader is prepared to contribute to finding a political solution and assist in efforts toward achieving a “just and lasting peace” in the Middle East.
