Surrey (Canada), May 5, 2026: A Punjabi-origin youth has been deported from Canada after being accused of involvement in an extortion network operating in the city of Surrey.
The Surrey Police Service (SPS) on May 4 released a photograph of the accused, identified as Prabhjot Singh (20), stating that he was allegedly linked to ongoing extortion activities in the region.
According to police, Singh had earlier been arrested in connection with cases involving coercive money demands. Following the investigation, he was removed from Canada.
Officials said the release of his photograph is aimed at gathering further information about his alleged criminal activities and possible associates. Members of the public have been urged to come forward with any relevant details that could assist the ongoing probe.
SPS noted that Singh is believed to have been connected to an active extortion racket in Surrey, and sharing his image was considered necessary to advance the investigation. The police are working in coordination with the British Columbia Provincial Extortion Task Force to dismantle such networks.
