Transfers Breaking: 12 IAS officers transferred

Mumbai (Maharashtra), June 16, 2026: The Maharashtra government on Tuesday carried out a significant bureaucratic reshuffle, transferring 12 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers and assigning them to key positions across departments linked to urban development, industry, health, municipal administration and tribal welfare.
The changes affect several important state agencies, including the City and Industrial Development Corporation (CIDCO), Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC), Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and the National Health Mission (NHM).
Under the new appointments, Vijay Singhal, a 1997-batch IAS officer and Vice Chairman and Managing Director of CIDCO, has been posted as Officer on Special Duty for the Dharavi Redevelopment Project in Mumbai. Prajakta Verma, a 2001-batch officer, has been appointed Additional Municipal Commissioner of the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation.
P. Velrasu, who was serving as Chief Executive Officer of MIDC, has been transferred as Secretary (Forest) in the Revenue and Forest Department. Dr Ashwini Joshi has been appointed Additional Metropolitan Commissioner of MMRDA, while Deependra Singh Kushwah has taken charge as the new Chief Executive Officer of MIDC.
In another key change, Ashwin Mudgal has been appointed Vice Chairman and Managing Director of CIDCO. Dr Kadambari Balkawade, who was heading Family Welfare and the National Health Mission, has been posted as Development Commissioner (Industries) in the Directorate of Industries.
Sanjay Katkar has been assigned the responsibility of Commissioner (Family Welfare) and Director of the National Health Mission. The government has also made several district-level appointments involving younger IAS officers.
Zenith Chandra Donthula has been posted as Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad, Gondia, while Anay Navandar will serve as Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad, Akola.
Among the 2023-batch officers, Dr B. Saravanan has been appointed Project Officer of the Integrated Tribal Development Project (ITDP) at Kinwat in Nanded district, while Laghima Tiwari has been posted as Project Officer of ITDP Taloda in Nandurbar district.
The latest reshuffle is aimed at strengthening governance and enhancing administrative efficiency across key departments and development agencies in Maharashtra.
