SP(HQ) Olympian Dharamvir Singh leads plantation drive under Student Police Cadet Scheme
Ferozepur, July 12, 2026: A plantation drive dedicated to environmental conservation was organised at Government Senior Secondary School, Sande Hasham, under the Student Police Cadet (SPC) Scheme under the leadership of SP Headquarters and Olympian Sardar Dharamvir Singh.
The initiative was carried out by Sanjh Kendra In-charge ASI Varinder Kumar and his team in collaboration with Shri Sathya Sai Seva Samiti, Ferozepur. A variety of shade-giving, fruit-bearing and ornamental saplings were planted across the school campus to promote greenery and environmental sustainability.
The campaign aimed to create awareness about environmental protection, reduce pollution, encourage afforestation and instil a sense of responsibility towards nature among students.
Addressing the gathering, SP Headquarters Dharamvir Singh said that trees are the foundation of human life and that plantation has become the need of the hour in view of increasing pollution and climate change. He urged every individual to plant at least one tree and take personal responsibility for its care and maintenance to ensure a cleaner, greener and healthier environment for future generations.
SPC In-charge Aksh Kumar (DM Sports) also encouraged students to actively participate in environmental conservation. He said that if every student plants and nurtures at least one sapling, it can significantly contribute to expanding green cover and protecting the environment.
The students enthusiastically participated in the plantation drive and pledged to take care of the saplings they planted. Teachers, school staff, social workers and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion.
The programme concluded with a collective appeal to the public to plant more trees and protect natural resources, reinforcing the message that environmental conservation is a shared responsibility of every citizen.
