Breaking: ED registers ECIR in case linked to Punjab CM’s OSD Rajbir Ghuman

Chandigarh, October 13, 2026: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has reportedly registered an Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR) in connection with a case linked to Rajbir Ghuman, Officer on Special Duty (OSD) to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, sources said.
According to information available from sources, the ECIR has been registered by the ED in Jalandhar. The development comes after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had initiated an investigation into the matter.
The ED’s reported move signals the possibility of a separate probe into aspects of the case falling under its jurisdiction.
The development follows the Supreme Court’s hearing on Monday on a petition filed by the Punjab government. The court granted interim relief restraining the CBI from taking coercive action in the matter.
The scope of the Supreme Court’s interim order and its possible implications for the ED’s reported action remain unclear.
