Breaking:Centre revises Employees’ Pension Scheme, sets new wage limit

New Delhi, October 16, 2026: The Ministry of Labour and Employment has amended the Employees’ Pension Scheme, 2026, specifying a monthly wage limit of ₹15,000 under Paragraph 4(2).
The amendment was notified through G.S.R. 890(E) dated October 15, 2026.
The notification also omits the words “and the Central Government” from the first proviso to the relevant provision. According to the notification, the amendment will come into force retrospectively from September 17, 2026.

The changes have been notified under the Employees’ Pension Scheme, 2026, administered by the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO).
