Dubai (UAE), April 13, 2025: To mark the celebrations on the auspicious occasion of Baisakhi Sikh Diaspora from all over the world which included religious leaders, preachers, business leaders and dignitaries from different walks of life performed Ardas for the Chardi Kala of the Sikh Panth and peace and harmony in India at Gurudwara Guru Nanak Darbar in Dubai on Sunday.
The celebrations were jointly organized by Gurudwara Nanak Darbar Dubai and Indian Minorities Federation.
On the occasion, the Gurudwara Committee and Sikh community honoured PM Modi with a Samman Patra for sanctioning Hemkund Sahib Ropeway Project which will offer safe, easy and fast pilgrimage to Sikh holy place of Sri Hemkunt Sahib in Uttrakhand which is a sacred place associated with tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh.

Prominent among those present on the occasion were Surender Singh Kandhari, a renowned entrepreneur and philanthropist, Founder & Chairman of the Al Dobowi Group and Chairman of Guru Nanak Darbar, Sikh Temple, Dubai, Bhai Sahib Satpal Singh, Ambassador of Sikh Dharma International (Sikh religion organization), Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and Convener of Indian Minorities Federation (IMF) Satnam Singh Sandhu, IMF Co-Founder Prof Himani Sood, Sikh Raagi Bhai Chamanjit Singh Lal and Rami Ranger, renowned British-Indian Businessmen.

Besides this, the celebration was attended by members of Sikh and other communities along with children and youth in large numbers.On the occasion, Shabd Kirtan was performed by school children who were all dressed up in Sikh traditional attires. Langar was also organized for the Sikh Sangat.
On the occasion, the prominent Sikh leaders from different nations praised PM Modi for his unparalleled efforts over the past decade in preserving, promoting and celebrating Sikh culture and heritage all over the world. Sikh Diaspora also hailed the initiatives undertaken by PM Modi for the welfare and development of Sikh Community during the last decade.
Members of Indian Sikh diaspora said PM Modi has shown his compassion for the Sikh community with steps to improve connectivity between five Takhts of Sikhism - Sri Akal Takht Sahib, Sri Damdama Sahib, Sri Keshgarh Sahib, Sri Patna Sahib and Sri Hazur Sahib.
The Indian Sikh diaspora in Dubai expressed their gratitude for PM Modi for making the Gurdwara Sri Hemkunt Sahib, the sacred site nestled in the Himalayas of Uttarakhand at 14,200 feet which is linked to Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, accessible to all by approving the Hemkunt Sahib Ropeway Project—a 12.4 km ropeway from Govindghat, costing Rs 2,730.13 Crore -- to ease the journey to this steep terrain for pilgrims.
The members of Sikh Community added that the grand celebrations of the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, the 400th anniversary of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, and the 350th anniversary of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, organized globally under Modi's leadership, have spread the teachings of the Sikh Gurus not just in India but almost every corner of the globe.

An economist from Chile who have worked for the World Bank for 30 years before adopting Sikhism with spiritual name Shri Gyan Singh said, “People of different communities and religion such as Sikhs, Buddhists, Christians and Muslims live together with peace and harmony”.
He further added that, “The world should understand the message of community service and universal brotherhood given by the ten Sikh Gurus so that the peace becomes easier and the boundaries of religion drop down. Two attributes of Guru Nanak’s teachings are important for mankind, the first one is sewa (selfless service) and the second one is to do meditation. Guru Nanak is example of self-sacrifice for the sake of humanity,”.Speaking on the rapid economic development in India, he said, “India is or should be the real super power because it has the spiritual enlightenment which has come from Gurus and other spiritual leaders. I had a chance to visit India recently after 15 years and I am astonished the progress and development that the nation has witnessed”.

On Hemkund Sahib Ropeway Project, Singh said, “Hemkund Sahib is one of the most sacred shrines for Sikhs. It is a very difficult pilgrimage site and PM Modi has got the opportunity to perform the service of introducing the ropeway project to this Sikh shrine. We are grateful to PM Modi for this service. This will pave way for safe, hassle-free and convenient pilgrimage to Hemkund Sahib for the Sikh devotees and even for the elderly pilgrims (not many could visit due to tough terrain) as well. We wish that this service of PM Modi be successful.”
