Punjab State Hockey Championship: Jalandhar wins the title of junior girls category

Jalandhar, April 28, 2024: Jalandhar girls team won the junior category title of Punjab State Hockey Championship by defeating Bathinda by a margin of 2-0. Local Olympian Jatin Mahajan (MD Alpha Hockey) distributed prizes to the winning players in the ongoing championship at the Hockey Stadium.
Whereas Amritsar won the third position by defeating Patiala by a margin of 4-1. The winning teams were honored with winning trophies as well as medals and certificates.The final match was very exciting. Ribka took control of the match by scoring both goals for Jalandhar.
Bathinda tried hard to score a goal but could not succeed. In the third-place match, Jashandeep scored two goals, and Mega and Khushdeep scored one goal each for Amritsar.In the earlier semi-final matches played, Jalandhar entered the final by defeating Amritsar by 3-0 and Bathinda by defeating Patiala by 4-0.
In the senior girls category, Bathinda defeated Jalandhar 5-0 and entered the semi-finals. Amritsar entered the finals by defeating Patiala 3-2 through sudden death. The winning teams were tied 2-2 at the stipulated time.
In the quarter-finals in the senior boys category, SBS Nagar defeated Firozpur 3-0, Sangrur defeated Ludhiana 3-2 via shoot-out, Amritsar defeated Patiala 2-1 via shoot-out and Jalandhar defeated Pathankot 2-0. Defeated and entered the semi-finals.
During today's matches, Harinder Singh Sangha Technical Delegate of Hockey India, Gurinder Singh Sangha Umpire Manager of Hockey India, Kulbir Singh Saini, Ravinder Singh Lali, Randhir Singh, Rajwant Singh Mann, Kuldeep Singh, Parminder Kaur, and other dignitaries were present.
