Sunam cyclist on Punjab Yatra to raise awareness about voting gets warm welcome at Ferozepur
Ferozepur, May 2, 2024: Punjab’s Sunam city cyclists have embarked on a mission to generate awareness among voters about enrollment, ethical voting and exercising their franchise during the Lok Sabha elections being held in Punjab also on June 1. Cyclist Manmohan Singh, who is reaching all the 13 Lok Sabha constituencies of Punjab through cycle travel, is giving the message of voter awareness.
According to the instructions of the Election Commission of India and the Chief Electoral Officer Punjab, all possible efforts are being made to increase voter awareness and weight poll percentage in the Lok Sabha elections 2024.
On reaching Ferozepur, he was warmly welcomed by the SVEEP (Systematic Voters Education and Electoral Programme) Team coordinator Dr.Satinder Singh and local cyclists – Dr Akash Aggarwal and Aman Sharma. Dr.Satinder said that with this initiative, the SVEEP campaign of Ferozepur will get a better response. Manmohan Singh cyclists was honoured by the Election Department and a special appreciation certificate was also presented to him.
Manmohan Singh thanked the DEO and SVEEP team and shared his cycle journey experience. He said his purpose is to inspire the voters to exercise their right to vote in all 13 Lok Sabha constituencies of Punjab.
Earlier Manmohan Singh completed a journey of about 3,700 km from Srinagar to Kanyakumari in 19 days and 1990 km from Sunam to Leh-Ladakh in 13 days and now he is creating awareness for voting through his bicycle journeys. He has also travelled by cycle from Sunam to Chitkul Ghati, the last village of India along with the China border and from Sunam to Hemkunt Sahib and Jaipur.
