SVEEP team intensifies efforts to augment voter turnout with bus route campaign
Ferozepur, May 9, 2025: To boost voter turnout in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the SVEEP team in Ferozepur intensified efforts to augment voters’ turnout through bus route campaign, by engaging all segments of society.
A recent voter awareness initiative at the Ferozepur-Fazilka Road local stand in Pindi saw active participation from Parvinder Singh Lalchian, the Assembly level SVEEP coordinator, who embarked on a bus route to rally passengers towards a substantial increase in voter turnout.
ARO-cum-SDM, Guruharsahai, Gagandeep Singh, highlighted ongoing efforts at the tehsil level, under district administration guidelines, to personally connect with citizens in public spaces, urging them to partake in the electoral process. SVEEP teams are actively canvassing door-to-door to ensure maximum voter participation. Special emphasis is placed on engaging families with historically low voter turnout and encouraging young adults to register and vote.
Special registration camps in educational institutions are facilitating new voter registrations, with education authorities expediting the enrollment of eligible students aged 18 and above.
The overarching goal is to surpass the 'Iss Baar 70 Paar' target set by the Election Commission of India, aiming for a voter turnout exceeding more than 70 per cent, a significant increase from the previous elections.
