Chandigarh University’s Computer Science Engineering Students Win 30-hour Coding Marathon at Hitachi Global Logic Hackathon

Gharuan (Mohali), June 23, 2024: Chandigarh University’s Computer Science Engineering (CSE) students have once again proven their brilliance on the national stage by winning the 30-hour coding marathon organized by Hitachi Group in New Delhi.
Chandigarh University’s winning team comprised of student coders Ashit Rrai, Sanskruti Dhal, Aryan Sharma and Vaibhav.
During this 30-hour uninterrupted coding marathon, teams compete against each other to conceptualize, design, and deliver proof-of-concepts (POCs) for the next generation, transforming them into reality.
The recently concluded Hackathon hosted by Hitachi Global Logic proved to be an exhilarating platform for innovation and problem-solving. With a focus on smart rail solutions, the event attracted over 100 teams competing from all corners of India. Among these, only 30 elite teams, including Chandigarh University team "Techno Tuners," were selected to advance to the offline round.The hackathon challenged participants to develop prototypes addressing pressing issues in the realm of rail transportation.
With 24 hours dedicated to prototype development and a rigorous 6-hour evaluation phase, teams were tasked with showcasing their ingenuity and technical prowess.
In response to the recent tragic accidents involving three trains in Odisha, Chandigarh University’s team embarked on a mission to devise a comprehensive solution that enhances rail safety and efficiency.
Leveraging cutting-edge technology and innovative thinking, the CU team presented a solution that not only addressed the immediate challenges but also offered long-term sustainability in railway operations.
The solution presented by Chandigarh University students resonated profoundly with the esteemed panel of judges, earning accolades in two distinguished categories.
The jury's appreciation culminated in "Techno Tuners" clinching the coveted title of overall winners, alongside the prestigious recognition for top tech innovation.
As a result, the Chandigarh University team was awarded Rs 4 lakh for the winning category and Rs 6 lakh for the top tech innovation category.
The journey from ideation to implementation was a testament to the Chandigarh University team's dedication, expertise, and collaborative spirit for pushing the boundaries of innovation and making meaningful contributions to the advancement of smart rail solutions.The winning CSE students expressed gratitude towards Chandigarh University for its steadfast support, services, and resources.
