CEC-CGCL Landran organizes faculty development program on Cloud Computing

Chandigarh, September 24, 2025: The Department of CSE, Chandigarh Engineering College (CEC), CGC Landran, organized a weeklong AICTE-ATAL sponsored Faculty Development Program (FDP) on ‘Recent Trends and Research on Cloud Computing and Services’ in campus.
The program aimed to provide the participants with a premier platform to explore the latest advancements, practical applications and research directions in cloud computing.
The FDP featured distinguished speakers from academia, industry and government institutions who shared their expertise on cutting-edge topics.
Dr. Mala Kalra from NITTTR Chandigarh delivered an insightful session on Overview of Cloud Computing and AWS Cloud. Dr. Satnam Kaur from Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh spoke on Leveraging Cloud Platforms for AI Solutions.
Ms. Akanksha Rai Sharma, Technical Program Manager at AWS South Asia, introduced participants to AWS Training, Certification and Academy Courses. Mr. Aman Gupta, Senior Cloud Engineer at AWS, presented sessions on Cloud Computing, AWS IAM, and Generative AI. Mr. Amit Jain from Tech Solutions, Mohali, conducted a session on Virtual Private Cloud, Cloud Storage and Cloud9 IDE. Mr. Ajay Godara, Founder of Innovate Skills and Mentor of Change at NITI Aayog, focused on IoT Cloud Application Development across multiple platforms.
Dr. Laxmi Narayan Thakural, Scientist-E at the National Institute of Hydrology, Roorkee, spoke on Cloud Computing for Hydrologic Modelling and Water Resource Management. An industrial visit to C-DAC Mohali gave participants exposure to advanced computing, AI, cybersecurity and indigenous cloud innovations.
Dr. Meenakshi Sood from NITTTR Chandigarh discussed Curriculum Development and NEP 2020 Implementation, while Mr. Mandeep Mehan from LTIMindtree Technology, Noida, presented on IDMC Cloud Tools, Elastic Load Balancer, CloudWatch and CloudTrail Services.
The program combined technical sessions with practical demonstrations, offering participants valuable exposure to AWS platforms, Generative AI, IoT, hydrologic modeling and interdisciplinary applications of cloud technology. Faculty members gained hands-on learning experiences, insights into industry practices and strategies for guiding meaningful projects and research in this domain.
During the valedictory session, Dr. Rajdeep Singh, Campus Director, CGC Landran, congratulated the organizers and participants, commending them all for their leadership in successfully conducting the FDP. He emphasized the importance of continuous research and development in emerging technologies.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Sukhpreet Kaur, who expressed gratitude to AICTE, ATAL Cell, the distinguished speakers and participants for making the FDP a resounding success.
