36 AGMUT IAS officers get revised batches, seniority benefits

New Delhi, August 9, 2026: The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has revised the IAS batch allocations of 36 AGMUT cadre officers, following judicial proceedings related to seniority and cadre allocation.
The revision has moved several officers to earlier IAS batches, effectively giving them one additional year of seniority and associated service benefits.
The revised allocations cover officers from the 2007 to 2011 IAS batches.
Five Officers Moved to 2007 Batch
The officers granted the revised 2007 batch are:
- H.P.S. Sran
- Vijendra Singh Rawat
- Rashmi Singh
- Shashi Kaushal
- Sanjay Gihar
12 Officers Granted 2008 Batch
The following officers have been placed in the 2008 IAS batch:
- Sanjay Kumar Jha
- Devesh Singh
- Girdhari Lal Meena
- Kuldeep Pakad
- Chokha Ram Garg
- Yashpal Garg
- Sanjeev Ahuja
- P.K. Panda

Eight Officers Moved to 2009 Batch
The revised 2009 batch includes:

Six Officers Granted 2010 Batch

Five Officers Moved to 2011 Batch
The 2011 batch allocation includes:
- Deepak Virmani
- Indu Shekhar Mishra
- Sanjeev Kumar Mittal
- Jayanta Kumar Ray
- Sunil Kumar Singh
Ram Niwas Sharma Gets 2009 Batch
Among the notable beneficiaries is Ram Niwas Sharma, who is serving in Jammu and Kashmir. He was earlier assigned the 2010 IAS batch but has now been placed in the 2009 batch, giving him an additional year of seniority.
The revised allocation may affect the seniority position and other career-related benefits of the officers concerned.
Revision Follows Judicial Proceedings
The batch revision follows a legal challenge associated with Krishan Kumar Dahiya, a DANICS officer, concerning the earlier position taken by DoPT on batch allocation and seniority.
Following the judicial proceedings, DoPT has implemented the revised batch allocations for the affected AGMUT officers.
