Ayurvedic Deptt conducts Yoga Camp to boost elderly wellness
Ferozepur, March 17, 2026: A five-day yoga camp aimed at promoting health and well-being among the elderly concluded successfully at Shri Ram Bagh Old Age Home, Ferozepur Cantonment.
The camp was organized from March 13 to March 17 under the guidance of Director Ayurveda Punjab, Dr Raman Khanna, District Ayurvedic and Unani Officer Dr Rupinderdeep Gill, and Nodal Officer Dr Rakesh Kumar Grover. Daily sessions were held from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM.
During the camp, elderly participants were educated about adopting a healthy lifestyle, proper diet, and preventive healthcare. Yoga instructors conducted practical sessions on various ‘asanas and pranayama’, helping participants gain both physical and mental benefits.
Participants were also provided refreshments daily, including bananas, snacks, and sweet and salted lassi.
At the concluding ceremony, Dr Rupinderdeep Gill distributed wellness kits to each beneficiary, including 1 kg amla murabba, 1 kg badam thandai, 1 kg khas sharbat, pain relief oil, tulsi drops, and a yoga mat.
Nodal Officer Dr Rakesh Kumar Grover delivered daily lectures focusing on mental and physical health. Additionally, the Ayurvedic department staff made arrangements for ration supplies for the old age home.
The camp saw active contributions from Dr Rakesh Kumar Grover, Dr Sumit Monga, Dr Rupinderdeep Kaur, Dr Lavdeep Singh, Vaidya Raghu Raja, Vaidya Amandeep Kaur, and yoga instructors Balwinder Singh, Tarsem Singh, and Kiran Rani.

President of Shri Ram Bagh Old Age Home, Harish Goel, expressed gratitude to the entire team for the successful organising of the camp and assured continued support for such initiatives in the future.
