Parvasi Sabha can become a strong bridge between Punjabis abroad and the Punjab Government for development of the state--Peter Sandhu

Peter Sandhu, a two-time MLA from Edmonton (Canada), has said that Parvaasi Sabha, Jalandhar can become a strong bridge between Punjabis living abroad and the Punjab government, which requires vision and foresight. He said that most of the issues of immigrants are related to their property and relationship breakdowns back home. Most of these are stuck in legal complications, whereas they can be resolved by creating social pressure through the Parvasi Sabha. Peter Sandhu had come to Ludhiana today for a personal meeting and discussion with Punjabi writer Prof. Gurbhajan Singh Gill, Chairman of Punjabi Lok Virasat Academy. Sandhu said that he had come from Canada to organize the diaspora immigrants and to activate this Parvasi Sabha and he always needed the suggestions and cooperation of writers, media workers and NGOs . They loved their home state, he said.
Paramjit Singh Sandhu alias Peter Sandhu, born in village Manawan of Moga district, has also decided to undertake a migrant awareness tour throughout Punjab so that the problems can be understood at the ground level. He also appealed to the Punjab government to immediately hold elections to the Parvaasi Sabha. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Gurbhajan Singh Gill said that for immigrants’ issues of migrants related to property and relations with their siblings, the law will only create more ill will and can affect the relationship and understanding.Parvasi Sabha can play a more effective positive role. On this occasion, Mr. Bhupinder Singh Nat and S. Rajvinder Singh Nat from Canada also participated in the discussion. Prof. Gill honoured Rajvnder Singh Nat by presenting a set of books authored by him.
