BSF seized heroin packet in Ferozepur village near International Border
Ferozepur, June 30, 2024: With the frequent recovery of drones and drug packets containing heroin in the villages along the International Border in Ferozepur, it looks to be a Pak-scripted addiction in this area. The illegal drug trade between Pakistan and India has escalated recently, with an alarming rise in the use of drones as a preferred mode of trafficking.
In the recent past, 4 drones with heroin packets have been seized in Ferozepur border villages. Merely with the present technology with the BSF to fight with the remote control drones dropping the packets in the villages touching the Pakistan border would not suffice, some more sophisticated skills have to be developed otherwise it would be ineffective to face the drug supplies across the border.

On Sunday, during the morning hours, vigilant BSF troops on duty observed a suspected packet in the border area of district Ferozepur. The troops immediately cordoned off the spot and carried out a thorough search of the area.
During a search at about 06:15 am, BSF troops retrieved one packet of suspected heroin (Gross weight- 522 Grams) from the area ahead of the border security fence adjacent to village Kalu Wala of district Ferozepur. The narcotics were wrapped in yellow colour adhesive tape and one small plastic torch with an improvised nylon loop was also found attached to the packet.
Sharp observation and swift action of BSF troops successfully added one more recovery of narcotics consignment smuggled from across the border to its achievement record.
