New Delhi, April 3, 2026: In a significant development, fuel prices in the country have once again come under the spotlight, with a sharp increase in industrial diesel rates raising concerns across the manufacturing and business sectors.
State-run oil companies have hiked the price of high-speed diesel (HSD), primarily supplied to industries, by ₹28.22 per litre. With this latest revision, the price has climbed to ₹137.81 per litre, leading to a sudden spike in operational costs for factories and commercial establishments.
This marks the second major increase in recent weeks. Earlier, on March 20, industrial diesel prices were raised by ₹22 per litre, taking rates from ₹87.67 to ₹109.59.
With the latest hike, diesel prices have surged by over 25 per cent in a short span, placing a considerable financial burden on industries already grappling with rising input costs.
