Breaking: Holiday declared in Delhi on Sept 11

New Delhi, September 3, 2026: Delhi Lieutenant Governor has declared Friday, September 11, 2026, a holiday for all Delhi Government offices, autonomous bodies and public sector undertakings (PSUs) in view of the upcoming 18th BRICS Leaders’ Summit.
According to a notification issued by the General Administration Department on Thursday, the holiday has been declared to facilitate security, traffic management and other logistical arrangements for the international summit being hosted in the national capital.
The order, issued under the directions of the Lieutenant Governor of Delhi, applies to all government offices, autonomous bodies and PSUs under the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi.
The BRICS summit is scheduled to be held at Bharat Mandapam, with arrangements being put in place to ensure smooth movement of international delegates and minimise inconvenience to the public.
