Punjab DA Case: Hearing on compliance issue adjourned to Monday

Chandigarh, September 3, 2026: The Punjab and Haryana High Court on Thursday adjourned to Monday the hearing of a non-compliance issue against the Punjab government over its alleged failure to comply with the court’s directions in the pending Dearness Allowance (DA) arrears matter.
The contempt plea was filed after the Punjab government allegedly failed to submit the compliance report by August 31, the deadline fixed by the High Court. The court had earlier directed the state government to clear the pending DA/DR dues and submit a compliance report regarding compliance with its directions.
The matter came up before the High Court on Thursday, when the hearing in the contempt petition was postponed to Monday.
