Breaking: Punjabi Singer found dead inside house

Jagraon (Ludhiana), September 3, 2026: The body of a Punjabi singer and lyricist was found inside his house in Sudhar Patti Dhaliwal village under the Sudhar police station area of Ludhiana district on Thursday, days after neighbours reportedly noticed a foul smell coming from the premises.
The deceased has been identified as Baljit Singh, a singer and songwriter. According to the police, his body was found lying on a bed and had decomposed, suggesting that he may have died around four to five days ago. Dried blood was reportedly found nearby, while the exact circumstances and cause of death remain unclear.
After being informed about the smell, police reached the house and, with the help of local residents, opened the door. Given the circumstances, teams from the Forensic Department, Dog Squad and CIA were called to the spot and began examining the scene.
Police are also checking CCTV footage from the area and investigating the movements of people who may have visited the house in recent days. Officials said the exact cause of death will be established only after the postmortem examination.
In a separate incident in Ludhiana, a father and his son were injured in a firing incident following a dispute reportedly linked to a dog-bite incident. Police are investigating that case as well.
