Amritsar, August 27, 2024: Sikh leaders under the banner of All India Sikh Students Federation have urged Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh to not display the portrait of wanted terrorist Paramjit Singh Panjwar at the Central Sikh Museum in the Golden Temple complex.
Wanted terrorist and Khalistan Commando Force (KCF) chief Paramjit Singh Panjwar was gunned down by two unidentified gunmen in Lahore, Pakistan last year.
Led by Rajasthan Sikh leader Tejinder Pal Singh Timma, Sikh leaders and office bearers of the federation met Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh
Speaking to the media, Sikh leaders said that they have learned from media reports Akal Takht is planning to put portraits of Khalistani militants Hardeep Singh Nijjar, Paramjit Singh Panjwar and Gajinder Singh at the Central Sikh Museum in the Golden Temple complex.
"While putting up the pictures of Bhai Gajinder Singh and Bhai Hardeep Singh Nijjar at the Sikh Museum is laudable, but the picture of Bhai Paramjit Singh Panjwar should be not placed there," said the leaders.
Sikh leaders objected to placing Paramjit Singh Panjwar in the Sikh Museum stating Paramjit Singh Panjwar killed many young Sikh leaders like Bhai Harminder Singh Sandhu, Bhai Sukhwant Singh Akkanwali, and Bhai Chamkaur Singh who were friends of Sant Bhindrawalia under the guise of Sanghras and instigated the killing of Bhai Maru on one side.
"Paramjit Singh Panjwar was the chief general of the Pathak committee which cleared the way for the bloody claws of the Congress by announcing a boycott of elections at gunpoint in 1992 and killing around 27 Pathak candidates contesting the elections. After this, the government led by Beant Singh allegedly killed the young Sikhs," the delegation added.
The delegation also attached some of the documents to prove their claim.
They demanded that the request made to the Shiromani Committee regarding the portrait of Paramjit Singh Panjwar at the Central Sikh Museum should be reconsidered. Dr. Bhagwan Singh, Swaran Singh Khalsa, Prof. Kulbir Singh and Ranjit Singh Rana were present on this occasion.
