Ferozepur admin calls for public participation in 'Swachhta Hi Seva' campaign
Ferozepur, September 19, 2024: As part of the Swachh Bharat Mission, the 'Swachhta Hi Seva' campaign is being conducted across the country from September 17, 2024, to October 2, 2024. In Ferozepur, the district administration, under the guidance of Deputy Commissioner Deepshikha Sharma, organized a pledge-taking ceremony led by ADC (General) Dr. Nidhi Kumud Bambha. Officials and employees from various departments participated in the event held at the District Administrative Complex.
During the event, Dr Nidhi Kumud Bambha discussed the importance of cleanliness with the officials and employees of different departments and administered a cleanliness pledge. She emphasized that every citizen's contribution is crucial in keeping their surroundings clean, and urged everyone to dedicate at least 100 hours a year to cleanliness. She assured that if every individual contributes, achieving a 'Clean India' would not be a difficult task. She appealed for maximum participation in this campaign from the citizens.
ADC(G) stated that, as per the schedule set by the Punjab Government, all Municipal Councils and Nagar Panchayats in Ferozepur district, as well as rural Panchayats and Block Committees, are actively participating in this campaign. She instructed all officers and employees to carry out various cleanliness activities and upload them on the Swachh Bharat Mission portal, as well as promote the message extensively on social media. She also directed Sukhpal Singh, Sanitary Inspector of Talwandi Bhai Municipal Council, to oversee the activities and encouraged the staff to coordinate with him to upload their department's activities on the relevant portal.
She further added that on October 2, 2024, special recognition will be given to various schools, colleges, social organizations, NCC, NSS volunteers, and other social, political, and religious figures who actively participated in the campaign, on the occasion of Swachh Bharat Diwas.
The event was attended by Superintendent Prem Rani, District Program Officer Ruchika Nanda, Dr Saminder Kaur, officials from various Municipal Councils and Nagar Panchayats, Superintendent Rinki Rani, Swachh Bharat Mission MIS Expert Balwinder Kaur, along with several other officers and employees.
