Ferozepur, January 29, 2026: Under the ongoing state-wide "Operation Gangster and War" campaign, the Ferozepur Police has achieved a breakthrough by apprehending two individuals involved in the illegal trafficking of weapons. The special operations, conducted by the CIA Zira and Makhu Police teams, resulted in the recovery of six unauthorised firearms, seven magazines, 15 live rounds, and two empty shells.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Bhupinder Singh Sidhu, said to eliminate anti-social elements and gangster activities in the district. Under the supervision of gazetted officers, special teams have been deployed to maintain high vigilance and take strict action against miscreants.
In the first incident on January 27, a CIA Zira team led by Sub-Inspector Gursaheb Singh acted on a tip-off regarding a suspect, Jaswinder Singh alias Baggu, residing in Village Lakha Singh Wala Hithar. In a parallel success, the Makhu Police team led by Sub-Inspector Sukhbir Singh arrested Sagar alias Teji on January 24, during a checkpoint operation at Jalandhar Tikoni, Makhu.
