250 Armed Forces families educated on traffic disciplline
Ferozepur, January 29, 2026: In a proactive move to curb road accidents and foster a culture of traffic discipline, the Mayank Foundation organized a comprehensive Road Safety Awareness Programme at Shaheed Bhagat Singh Enclave, Ferozepur Cantonment. Held under the auspices of National Road Safety Month, the event successfully engaged nearly 250 families of armed forces personnel, emphasizing the life-saving importance of responsible driving.
For the past eight years, the Mayank Foundation has remained a steadfast advocate for safer commutes in Ferozepur. This latest initiative reinforces their long-standing commitment to reducing road-related fatalities through continuous education and community engagement.
The program featured a detailed technical presentation by Ashwani Sharma, Joint Secretary of the Mayank Foundation. Using visual aids and a PowerPoint presentation, He educated the attendees on the significance of various road signs and traffic symbols, noting that a proper understanding of these markers is the first step toward preventing road mishaps.
Complementing the technical aspects, Harish Kumar drew parallels between domestic road behavior and international traffic standards. Sharing insights from his experiences abroad, he urged the audience to adopt the same level of discipline and patience seen in foreign countries to improve the safety landscape of Indian roads.
Further underscoring the gravity of the situation, Deepak Sharma presented recent statistics from the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, illustrating why National Road Safety Month remains a critical necessity for the nation.
The session also addressed practical behavioral changes, with Lakhvir Singh a retired police officer, identifying common negligent habits—such as lane splitting and ignoring safety gear—and providing actionable guidance on how to avoid these mistakes.
The event concluded with a collective pledge by the participating families to strictly adhere to traffic regulations and act as road safety ambassadors within their communities.
