Chandigarh, March 26, 2026: Punjab Cabinet Minister Sanjeev Arora on Thursday presented the four-year performance report of the state government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann during a public meeting in Sarabha Nagar.
Addressing residents, Arora said Punjab is on a fast track to development and is steadily moving towards becoming a vibrant “Rangla Punjab.” He claimed that the past four years have seen unprecedented progress, surpassing achievements of the previous decades.
Highlighting key accomplishments, the minister stated that Punjab has been recognised by the Government of India as the top-performing state in sectors such as road safety, education, and ease of doing business—marking a first in the state’s history.
He further noted that households across Punjab have been receiving 300 units of free electricity every month, while around 75 per cent of farmers are now getting uninterrupted power supply during morning hours.
This figure, he said, is expected to rise to 95 per cent in the upcoming paddy season. Improvements in the functioning of Punjab State Power Corporation Limited have also contributed to better efficiency, reduced losses, and enhanced power supply.
Arora also highlighted the rollout of a universal cashless health insurance scheme offering coverage of up to ₹10 lakh per family, calling it a first-of-its-kind initiative in the country.
Looking ahead, he said the government plans to provide monthly financial assistance of ₹1,000 to ₹1,500 to women and aims to further upgrade road infrastructure and cleanliness across the state.
