Railway conduct intensive ticket checking drive on Express trains
Collects Rs 52,000 fine from 87 ticketless passengers

Ferozepur, August 26, 2024: Under the guidance of Divisional Railway Manager Sanjay Sahu and led by Senior Divisional Commercial Manager Paramdeep Singh Saini, an intensive ticket-checking drive was conducted on August 25, 2024. The operation targeted Train No. 12380 (Amritsar-Sealdah Jallianwala Bagh Express) and Train No. 12919 (Dr. Ambedkar Nagar-Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Malwa Superfast Express).
The team, including Commercial Inspector from Jalandhar, Rajesh Dhiman, along with ticket-checking staff, RPF, and GRP personnel, thoroughly inspected the air-conditioned, sleeper, and general coaches. A total of 87 passengers were found traveling without valid tickets, resulting in fines amounting to approximately ₹52,000.
Saini emphasized that traveling without a valid ticket is a legal offense and urged passengers to ensure they have valid tickets. He also mentioned that such special ticket-checking drives will continue across the Ferozepur division's stations and trains.
