Rajya Sabha Poll Schedule for 37 Seats Announced; 4 Seats from Haryana and Himachal Also in List

Chandigarh/New Delhi, February 18, 2026: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has announced the schedule for elections to 37 vacant seats in the Rajya Sabha across 10 states.
The list includes four seats from Haryana and Himachal Pradesh — two seats each from Haryana and Himachal Pradesh.
According to the notification issued by the ECI, polling will be held on March 20, 2026, to fill seats that have fallen vacant due to completion of tenure or other reasons, as applicable.
The election process will be conducted as per the notified schedule, including filing of nominations, scrutiny of papers, withdrawal of candidature, and polling, wherever required.
Rajya Sabha members are elected by the elected Members of Legislative Assemblies (MLAs) through the system of proportional representation by means of the single transferable vote.
