Ram Lal Chopra promoted as Deputy Director, Hospitality Dept

Chandigarh, August 19, 2026: The Punjab Government has promoted Ram Lal Chopra to the post of Deputy Director in the Hospitality Department, Punjab.
The promotion was notified by the Department of General Administration (Protocol Branch) following the recommendations of the Departmental Promotion Committee, which met on August 19, 2026.
Chopra was serving as Assistant Director in the Hospitality Department prior to his promotion.
Under the order, the post of Deputy Director carries the pay scale of Level-17, ranging from ₹53,600 to ₹1,70,100, under the Punjab Civil Services (Revised Pay) Rules, 2021.
The promotion will take effect from the date Chopra assumes charge of the new post. He will also remain on probation for a period of one year.
