Surjit Patar Kala Utsav enters second day at PAU

Ludhiana (Punjab), February 25, 2025: The State Level Surjit Patar Kala Utsav entered the second day at the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU) with the organisation of the seminar on “Jeevay Javaani.”
Being held under the patronage of PAU Vice-Chancellor Dr Satbir Singh Gosal, the seminar saw an active participation of the students from different colleges of the city.
Gurpreet Singh Toor, retired IPS officer and producer of kafla ‘Jeevay Punjab’, was the chief guest, while Prof Ashwini Bhalla was the special guest on the occasion. Dr Rishi Pal Singh, Registrar, presided over the seminar.
In his welcome remarks, Mr Swaranjit Savi, Chairman of Punjab Arts Council, Chandigarh, said that fruitful discussions, concerning youths’ directionless life, have taken place in different educational institutions of Punjab.
Rishi Pal Singh called for evolving a close relationship with the youths in order to understand their pulse.Toor, while expressing concern over the growing restlessness among youths, stressed upon the policy formation keeping in view the interests of the state’s youths.
Citing examples of youth going astray, he pointed out the rising costs of living and unemployment in the present-day scenario. Besides, he shed light on the conservation of natural resources.
Dr Nirmal Jaura, Director Students’ Welfare, lauded the youths’ expressive way of sharing the concerns with the experts.At the inter-college elocution contest, students spoke on the topic earth, trees and birds; importance of hard work; and wise words for younger generation.
Prof PS Taggar shared his views and coordinated the programme on Punjab, Punjabi and Punjabiyat. Kirti Kirpal from Natyam group directed and stage a play on jasbir Jassi’s :Minus zero, zero, zero, zero and zero.”
Dr Vishal Bector and Dr Ashoo Toor coordinated the programme. Dr Rupinder Kaur, Associate Director, informed that the event will conclude tomorrow with Kavishri and folk dances.
