Technical Education department introduces nine new courses: Harjot Bains

To equip the youth with relevant skills that meet the demands of the contemporary job market, the Punjab Technical Education and Industrial Training Department has introduced nine new age courses, which would be taught in Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) across the state.
Giving further information in this regard, Technical Education Minister Mr. Harjot Singh Bains said, new-age courses such as Multimedia Animation & Special Effects, Smartphone Technician-cum-App Tester, Additive Manufacturing Technician (3D Printing), Lift and Escalator Mechanic, Drone Technician, Advanced CNC Machining, IoT Technician (Smart Agriculture), Solar Technician and Mechanic Electric Vehicle, are added in the existing courses.
He said that the primary objective behind introducing these courses is to prepare the youth of the state for employment opportunities both within the country and abroad. The courses aim to foster entrepreneurship among the students said the Cabinet Minister, highlighting that there is a significant demand for skilled workers in these fields, for which the new courses have been initiated.
The Technical Minister informed that these new courses are being offered in 25 government ITIs in the state and total of 653 new seats have been allocated for these courses. The recruitment process for teachers to instruct these courses has already been completed, ensuring that students receive proper guidance and education in these emerging fields.
Mr. Bains said that under the leadership of Chief Minister S. Bhagwant Singh Mann, continuous efforts are being made to make the youth of the state technical experts as per the need of the industry.
