Ferozepur Police Arrests 5 Members of Kapa Gang with Deadly Weapons
Ferozepur, August 26, 2024: In a significant crackdown, Ferozepur Police today arrested five members of the notorious Kapa Gang, seizing deadly weapons in the process. Under the direction of SSP Saumya Mishra, multiple teams were formed to target the ongoing spree of robberies, thefts, and looting in the area.
Led by IPS officer Randhir Kumar and DSP Varinder Singh, the CIA staff of Ferozepur, under Inspector Mohit Dhawan, achieved success during a patrol operation. Acting on a tip-off, they apprehended five gang members involved in snatching mobile phones and stealing motorcycles from various locations in Ferozepur.
Addressing the press, Randhir Kumar revealed that the gang was planning to rob a petrol pump in Ferozepur. Upon their arrest, the police recovered two machetes, two baseball bats, a dagger, and three stolen motorcycles. A case has been registered against the five accused at Mamdot police station under FIR No. 76 dated August 24, 2024, under sections 310(4) and 315(5) of the BNS Act.
Further investigation revealed that the accused, Karan alias Ninja, son of Sukha of Ichewala Ferozepur, and Karan, son of Tarsem from Norang Ke Leli, led the police to recover additional stolen items, including seven touchscreen mobile phones and more motorcycles. The case was updated with additional charges under section 317(2) BNS.
Other gang members identified were Rohit alias Hori, son of Gulab; Sandeep Singh alias Chhippi, son of Baldev Singh; and Samarpit Singh alias Sunny, son of Sukhwinder Singh. Notably, Sandeep alias Chhippi has eight previous cases registered against him, while Samarpit alias Sunny is involved in two prior cases. The accused are currently under police custody on a two-day remand, with further interrogation ongoing.
