Emergency services continue uninterrupted despite medical officers' strike: Civil Surgeon

Ferozepur, September 14, 2024: Amidst the ongoing strike by medical officers at the district hospital, Civil Surgeon Dr. Rajwinder Kaur assured that emergency services are continuing smoothly. The strike, organized by medical officers to push for their demands, has been ongoing in government healthcare facilities. However, Dr Kaur emphasized that appropriate measures have been taken to ensure that patients requiring emergency care are not affected.
She confirmed that all government health institutions in the district are providing uninterrupted emergency services, with doctors attending to patients in critical situations. At Civil Hospital, Ferozepur, specialists have been assigned alongside medical officers to handle emergency cases, ensuring no disruption in care.
Senior Medical Officer at Civil Hospital, Dr Nikhil Gupta, added that special arrangements have been made to ensure patients in the emergency ward receive timely and efficient treatment. Medical officers under the National Health Mission have also been assigned duties. Following a productive meeting with senior officials, OPD services have resumed today from 11 AM to 2 PM on a half-day basis.
Dr. Rajwinder Kaur reassured the public that the Health and Family Welfare Department remains fully committed to patient care. She confirmed that healthcare services will continue without any hindrance, and efforts are being made to maintain seamless operations during this period.
“Cesarean deliveries, childbirth, and accident cases are being treated without interruption,” said Dr Nikhil.
