Amritsar, November 6, 2024: The Dal Khalsa has reacted sharply to the alarming situation that led to a scuffle between pro-Khalistani activists and pro-Indian activists at Canada’s Brampton.
The Sikh hardline organization in Punjab said the news about the attack on the Hindu Temple spread by mainstream media and endorsed by Indian leadership led by PM Narendra Modi was completely untrue.
"The fact is that a handful of Khalistani sympathizers and pro-Indian activists clashed with each other on the street outside the Temple where the Indian consulate was holding a camp," Kanwar Pal Singh, Dal Khalsa's Secretary for political affairs.
"It’s astonishing that the PM, who kept mum on violence in Manipur for weeks and months, had reacted so swiftly on overseas minor clashes," he added.
Kanwar Pal Singh alleged it's a ploy by BJP government to pit Hindus against Sikhs especially in Canada and India to further polarise the society.
“We have witnessed in the 80’s and 90’s the same dirty tactics applied by successive governments in Delhi to create bad blood against each other in Punjab. Sadly, both communities in Punjab fell into the State’s trap and stood against each other resulted in bloodshed. Let’s learn lessons from the bitter past and keep Govt and its agencies at bay” he added.
