Prof Narpinder Singh retired as Professor from the Department of Food Science and Technology, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar after serving on various positions such as Director of Research, Dean (Faculty of applied sciences), Head of department, coordinator University-Industry linkage program in December, 2022.
During his tenure at Guru Nanak Dev University, Prof. Narpinder Singh brought numerous laurels to the institution, securing prestigious research projects and significant infrastructural grants.
He also guided 32 Ph.D. scholars, contributing to the development of future experts in his field. Prof. Singh was honored with several national and international awards during his time at the university, including the Rafi Ahmed Kidwai Award by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research and the J.C. Bose National Fellowship awarded by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. Additionally, he is fellow of esteemed organizations such as the Royal Society of Chemistry, the Cereals & Grains Association (formerly the Association of Cereal Chemists International), the National Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the Indian National Science Academy, the National Academy of Sciences, India, the Punjab Academy of Sciences and the Association of Food Scientists and Technologists India. These achievements further highlight his exemplary contributions to science.
