Ferozepur Police bust two gangs, arrest six members with Illegal weapons

Ferozepur, October 30, 2024: The Ferozepur police have successfully dismantled two criminal gangs, resulting in the arrest of six members and the recovery of illegal firearms. The operation led to the seizure of a .30 bore illegal pistol with four live cartridges, two .315 bore desi katta (country-made guns) with two live cartridges, two .32 bore illegal pistols, three magazines, and additional live cartridges found on a motorcycle.
The arrested individuals have been booked under FIR 113 of October 28 under Section 25 of the Arms Act. Among the accused are Jatinder alias Gati from Ferozepur, Anmoldeep Singh alias Mola from Zira, Sehajpreet Singh from Hardasa in Zira, Mandeep Singh alias Mani, Palla Megha, and Sunil from Basti Shekhan Wali in Ferozepur. Additionally, Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi was booked in FIR 71 of the same date under similar charges at Talwandi Bhai.
Investigations reveal a significant criminal background among the accused. Jatinder alias Gati has previous charges under the NDPS Act in Makhu from September 2022, while Sunil has been implicated in multiple cases including the Arms Act and IPC sections since September 2021. Mandeep Singh has a history of five cases related to the NDPS Act and the Arms Act from 2019 to 2023, and Sehajpreet Singh has been involved in three NDPS Act cases across various locations. Gurpreet Singh alias Gopi also faces charges in two NDPS Act cases.
SSP Soumya Mishra emphasized the police department's commitment to curbing the activities of anti-social elements and ensuring the law is upheld. Under the guidance of SP(D) Randhir Kumar, DSP(D) Fateh Singh Brar, and Mohin Dhawan, in charge of the CIA staff, police teams are actively working in sensitive areas to address and investigate previous loot incidents. The arrested individuals will be presented in court for further remand and investigation.
