Ferozepur DC intensifies campaign against stubble burning, 288 cases registered
Ferozepur, November 1, 2024 – In a renewed effort to curb stubble burning across Ferozepur district, Deputy Commissioner Deepshikha Sharma toured multiple villages, including Tranwali, Palla Megha, Usmanwala, Kutbewala, Dulchi Ke Dooji Ke, and Kamale Wala, accompanied by SDM Randeep Singh and Naib Tehsildar Jaimandeep Singh.
During the visit, the DC observed burned stubble in certain fields, instructing officials to take strict departmental action against the farmers involved while promoting awareness about avoiding crop residue burning. Of the 351 reported stubble-burning incidents captured via satellite, 288 cases have led to official complaints.
She emphasized that district administration and police teams are reaching out to every village and farmer, appealing for environmental responsibility. While many have complied, some cases of stubble burning persist. In response, a large number of vigilance teams are actively working to prevent further incidents and protect the environment.
