Mass Counseling Program guides Ferozepur students towards bright future

Ferozepur, November 19, 2024: Under the guidance of the Principal Secretary, Department of Employment Generation, Skill Development, and Training, Chandigarh, and the District Administration, Ferozepur, the District Employment and Business Bureau (DEBB), in collaboration with the District Education Officer, has initiated a mass counselling program in government schools across the district.
Dilbag Singh, District Employment Officer, shared that the program has already been conducted in several schools, including Government Senior Secondary Schools in Sohan Garh, Kohar Singh Wala, Ferozshah, Ghall Khurd, Khai Pheme Ke, Lakkho Ke Behram (Boys), Mamdot, and the Schools of Eminence in Mamdot and Ferozepur City (Girls). These sessions aim to provide essential guidance for students to plan their careers and futures effectively.
Gurjant Singh, Placement Officer at the DEBB, elaborated that the sessions cover career counselling, higher education options, self-employment opportunities, skill courses, and services offered by the department. Students receive insights into competitive exam preparation, degree programs, and employment avenues to equip them for promising career paths.
The program also involves block counsellors and resource persons from various departments, who provide detailed information on higher education, job vacancies, and self-employment initiatives. Special sessions have been conducted on career prospects in the armed forces, highlighting opportunities and challenges for both boys and girls in the sector.
Future sessions are planned for Government Senior Secondary Schools in Sher Khan, Sande Hasham, Mana Singh Wala, Lumbrivala, Lakha Hazi, Panj Ke Utar, Karyan Pahlwan, and Kassowana, ensuring that more students benefit from this initiative.
