Elected women representatives of Panchayati Raj institutions should also be included in the Chaupals

Chandigarh, November 19, 2024- Haryana's Women and Child Development Minister Mrs. Shruti Chaudhary directed the officials to prepare the outline of the concept of Mahila Chaupal as soon as possible to promote women empowerment.
Basic facilities should be available for women in Mahila Chaupals. Along with this, public representatives like women Sarpanch, Panch, Block Committee members of local Gram Panchayat should also be included in Mahila Chaupals.
As far as possible, efforts should be made to build these Chaupals close to Anganwadi centers.Shruti Choudhary was presiding over a meeting of senior officials of the Women and Child Development Department called here late last evening.
He directed the officers that the work and activities of the District Project Officer and Women and Child Development Project Officers working in the field must be monitored at the headquarters level and ensure that a fortnightly report of the action taken is sent to him.
Chaudhary emphasized on conducting training programs on government schemes, especially on the department's schemes, policies and activities.So that development work in the state can be accelerated. She said that the work of filling the vacant posts in the department should also be completed as soon as possible.
In the meeting, the department officials apprised the minister that 63 announcements related to the department were made by the Chief Minister, out of which 56 have been completed. Work is being done on the remaining.
Negligence and indiscipline will not be tolerated
The minister warned the officials that he will not tolerate any negligence or indiscipline on the part of the department officials in their work. If any officer is found negligent, strict action will be taken against him.
