Trudeau's Govt gives 'tax break' to Canadians as election looms
Babushahi Bureau
Ottawa (Canada), November 22, 2024: Ahead of the elections, the Justin Trudeau government in Canada has provided significant tax relief to its citizens.
For two months, tax relief on essential goods will be implemented, commencing from December 14th. The government of Canada will not charge GST and HST for 2 months from December 14.
During this period, no taxes will be imposed on groceries, children's clothing, and other necessary items. This initiative aims to address the rising cost of living ahead of an election that could come anytime between this fall and next October.
"Canadians are getting a tax break. Starting December 14, we’re pausing GST and HST for two months to make groceries, kids clothes, and other essentials tax-free," posted Canada PM on X.
"And while you’re here, you should know this: if you worked last year and made up to $150,000, you’ll get a $250 cheque in your mailbox in April: the Working Canadians Rebate," he further wrote.
