Weather Alert: IMD issues dense fog alert for Punjab, Haryana, Himachal

New Delhi, November 24, 2024: As winter tightens its grip on North India, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast of fog for the northern region.
The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted the occurrence of dense fog in Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh Himachal Pradesh.
The forecast indicates that dense fog is expected to occur in certain areas of Punjab, Haryana, and Chandigarh during the early mornings of November 28 and 30. Additionally, Himachal Pradesh is expected to experience dense fog from November 27 to 29, while Uttar Pradesh may face comparable conditions from November 28 to 30.
Meanwhile, the southern and coastal regions will see heavy rains and thunderstorms.
The IMD has issued a weather advisory predicting very heavy rainfall with isolated thunderstorms and lightning over Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal between November 25 and 28. Additionally, Kerala, Mahe, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema may witness heavy rain on November 26 and 27.
