Chandigarh, January 27, 2025 – Haryana Chief Minister Sh Nayab Singh Saini took a dig at former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, accusing him of failing to make proper arrangements for water distribution, which has forced Delhi residents to consume contaminated water.
While criticizing Sh Kejriwal for systematically diverting 28 drains into the Yamuna river, the Chief Minister claimed that the people of Delhi would teach him a lesson in the upcoming general elections.
The Chief Minister's remarks were in response to allegations made by Sh Kejriwal during a press conference here today, where he accused Haryana of releasing toxic water into the Yamuna river.
Nayab Singh Saini further said that Kejriwal has a habit of making baseless allegations and then avoiding responsibility. This, according to the Chief Minister, reflects both Kejriwal's personal approach and the mindset of his party.
The Chief Minister said that he has asked Kejriwal to send his Chief Secretary and officers to Haryana, specifically to Sonipat, from where Haryana supplies water to Delhi, to inspect the quality of the water being provided.
He said that while there is no shortage of water, it is the mismanagement of the Delhi government that has left residents without access to clean water.
Despite being in power for the last 10 years, Kejriwal had failed to improve Delhi’s water distribution system, leading to the continued consumption of contaminated water by the Delhi residents. The Chief Minister also highlighted the improvements made in Haryana’s water supply under the leadership of Prime Minister Sh Narendra Modi.
Before 2014, women in Haryana had to carry water pots from distant sources, but since the BJP government came to power, every household in Haryana now has access to clean tap water.
In contrast,. Kejriwal’s promises of providing clean water and cleaning the Yamuna River have gone unfulfilled, and the people of Delhi will hold him accountable in the upcoming elections.

In response to a question regarding the praise of the Chief Minister by opposition MLAs, Sh.
