Year 2025 is being celebrated as International Cooperation Year.

The Cooperation Department is celebrating the year 2025 as International Cooperative Year.
Under this series, 123 cooperative societies of Fazilka district have been identified for rejuvenation.
In this regard, Deputy Commissioner Amarpreet Kaur Sandhu convened a meeting of cooperative department to accelerate the functioning of the societies
Presiding over the meeting, DC stated that their cooperative societies were being empowered to increase their income and make them more beneficial for society.
She added that the facility of the Common Service Centre would be provided in the cooperative societies of the district, till now 87 cooperative societies have been launched with this facility.
Under this facility, these societies will offer 300 types of government services to citizens, benefiting both the societies and the people living nearby. Similarly, Jan Aushadi Kendres will be opened five cooperative societies of the district which will provide affordable and standard medicines.
Deputy Registrar of the Department Sonu Mahajan said that five societies of the district have applied to become members of the Multi-State Export Cooperative Society at the national level. In this way, the members of these societies will also be able to export their produce through the said cooperative society.
Similarly, five societies of the district have also applied to become members of the Multi-State Certified Seed Cooperative Society at the national level. Similarly, five cooperative services of the district have become members of the Multi-State Cooperative Society for Organic Farmers at the national level.
Apart from this, cooperation is also being strengthened in the fields of dairy, fish, farming etc. Officials from the Agriculture Department, NABARD, Fisheries, and F.C.I were present in the meeting.
