Golden Jubilee Reunion: H.M. School’s 1975-76 batch celebrates Basant Panchami in Ferozepur
Ferozepur, February 2, 2025: The festival of Basant Panchami, widely celebrated in Ferozepur with vibrant kite-flying traditions, became even more special for the 1975-76 batch of H.M. School as they gathered for their Golden Jubilee reunion.
The celebration, held at a local banquet hall on the eve of Basant Panchami, saw former classmates reconnecting after decades over dancing, dinner, and nostalgia. Attendees came from various parts of India and abroad, including Suresh Chander Khattar (Panchkula), Dr. Parveen Dhingra (Ferozepur), Dr. Rakesh Tuli (Mumbai), Parnish Kakkar (USA), Ramesh Sethi (Australia), Randeep Latawa (Chandigarh), Dr. Bharat Bhushan (Delhi), and Suman Chawla (Australia).
Ferozepur's Basant Panchami festival remains a major attraction, drawing back residents who have settled worldwide. However, amid the celebrations, concerns were raised about the dangers of Chinese kite strings, which have caused severe injuries. Participants urged authorities to curb the sale of such hazardous threads.
The reunion was a memorable occasion, filled with cherished moments as old friends relived their school days and celebrated the spirit of Basant Panchami together.
