AGS all set to host its 8th Amateur Golfers Society Golf Tournament on Feb 9

Chandigarh, February 7, 2025: The Amateur Golfers Society (AGS) is all set to host its 8th Amateur Golfers Society Golf Tournament on February 9 at the Panchkula Golf Club (PGC).
The tournament details were shared by the organizers during a curtain raiser press meet held at the Press Club, Sector 27, Chandigarh, on Friday.
Advocate Suresh K. Gupta, Founder Trustee of the Amateur Golfers Society Gupta said that Vineet Garg, Additional Chief Secretary of Education, Government of Haryana, will be the Chief Guest of the tourney.
He informed that Anish Arora, Director of TSJ Group(Mohali Citi Centre); H C Goyal, Owner of Jia Diamonds and Vivek Kapoor, Director of JAL(Jupiter Aqua Lines) , will serve as the Guests’ of Honour at the tournament.
“We are thankful to these organisations as they are supporting the tournament from the corporate world,” said Gupta.
Gupta and Architect C. P. Kaushal, who has been assigned as the designing architect of AGS’s upcoming Golf Range in Panchkula shared details about the tournament and updates about the forthcoming Golf Range. Anish Arora, H C Goyal, Pushpinder Bahlvi, Business Development Head(Sales & Marketing Management), Jupiter Aqua Lines(JAL) and Menika Sharma, Head(Events) AGS also participated in the press meet.
Suresh K. Gupta said, “Following the tremendous success of the previous tournaments,we are excited to present the 8th edition. This year, we have a strong line-up of 100 players, including 88 men and 12 women, competing across various categories. The winners in each category will be awarded with Amateur Trophies, with additional prizes for the Overall Winner, Longest Drive, Straightest Drive, Closest to the Pin”
Gupta said further that the handicap categories in which golfers will take part will be 0-9, 10-15, and 16 & above. Top performers in these categories and runners-up will be recognized. The ‘Overall Lady Winner’ shall also be announced.
Anish Arora stated, “Our organization TSJ Group(Mohali Citi Centre) has extended support to AGS as the golf NGO is doing yeoman's service in promoting the sport of golf and we wanted to acknowledge this genuine effort of theirs."
H C Goyal said, "Jia Diamonds has always been at the forefront when it comes to supporting sports initiatives, so we are elated to be part of the tournament as its corporate supporter."
Pushpinder Bahlvi said, "AGS is dedicated to fostering the golfing culture and nurturing young talent in the region. We at JAL are happy to support its endeavours as a sponsor so that the level of golf in the region is enhanced further."
Meanwhile it was stated in the press meet that AGS plans to honor both the winners and participants with awards and certificates, recognizing their achievements and contributions to the sport. Organizers of the tourney also shared other major developments in AGS’s mission to establish Panchkula as a premier golfing destination in the country.
Gupta announced that TSJ Group(Mohali Citi Centre) will be the designated resource company responsible for the development and finalisation of suitable land for a new golf range in Panchkula. He also provided an update that the Chief Town Planner, Urban Local Bodies, Haryana’s office, is currently processing the application for land allotment to AGS, which has been submitted to the Chief Minister of Haryana for approval.
Arch. C P Kaushal said that a total of 16 players (8 men and 8 women) are being trained for the next AGS tournament.Gupta said, “We at AGS are rigorously promoting the golfing culture by organizing tournaments & training new Golfers.”
Kaushal added, “Soon in Panchkula, a state-of-the-art golf training infrastructure with residential facilities will be available within the premises of an ultra-modern golf range.”
