Chandigarh (Punjab), February 19, 2025 – Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu visited the Chief Minister’s residence in Chandigarh to meet Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann but was not allowed inside.
During the visit, a heated argument reportedly took place between Bittu and police personnel. The Union Minister alleged that despite multiple requests, the Punjab CM refused to meet him.
Bittu claimed that after the Aam Aadmi Party’s defeat in the Delhi Assembly elections, BJP workers in Punjab were being falsely implicated in cases out of political vendetta. He stated that he intended to discuss the issue with CM Mann but was barred from entry as the doors of the CM residence were kept closed.
The Union Minister further alleged that arrested BJP workers were being mistreated in jails. He warned that if such political discrimination continued, the AAP government in Punjab would collapse before 2027.
"If the Chief Minister refuses to meet me, I will approach him at public events," Bittu stated, adding that the matter could lead to action against several Punjab officials. He also said he was willing to be taken into custody if the Punjab Police deemed it necessary, asserting that he had not violated any security protocols.
